About Us
We know that hearing the words “you need chest surgery” can strike fear in even the strongest of patients.
While anxiety, nervousness and even fear are natural responses to that reality, with Thoracic Group, you possess a collaborative partner committed to your health. From our initial consultation through post-operative recovery, we stand by our patients every step of the way.
Our Expertise
Thoracic surgery has come a long way in the last 20 years – no longer are patients faced with highly-invasive open-chest surgery as their only option. And we have played a significant role in that progress as pioneers and specialists in Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), a minimally invasive way of operating on the lungs, mediastinum and pleura, that allows patients to recover far more quickly when compared to traditional open chest surgery.
Whether you are in need of surgery for cancer, infection, pneumothorax (collapsed lung), emphysema, cysts or other thoracic disorder, Thoracic Group can help. We get patients back to their routines – and back to their lives – faster than they would with a traditional open thoracotomy with less pain and fewer complications.
Since 1990, Thoracic Groups surgeon has performed more than 7,000 VATS procedures on patients from across the country and around the world. And we lead by example, lecturing nationally and internationally, teaching the VATS procedure to visiting surgeons from across the U.S. and abroad.
